Welcome to the website of the Ridings of Yorkshire Society.
ROYS is a group dedicated to researching celebrating Yorkshire’s past, and its researchers, across a variety of disciplines. The group was formed in 2021 by 6 PhD candidates at the University of Hull working on a variety of aspects of Yorkshire’s past. However, this isn’t a group for Hull students, or even just history students! ROYS is for anyone working on Yorkshire’s past, from any discipline or subject!
This year’s ROYS conference will be held on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th June at Heritage Quay, University of Huddersfield. You can find the call for papers here.
